I was born in London to a half Iranian/half French mother and Gibraltarian father, and was brought up in a house that was always full of music, from all over the world. From the age of three I was classically trained in violin (Suzuki method) and decided to teach myself guitar when I turned 16. I’ve been writing music since my childhood, and have been performing in the UK and US for the past four years, both solo and with my band.
After completing a BSc in Psychology, I went to study Fine Art at Central Saint Martins, during which time I traveled to the States to record my Debut Album with multi-platinum Grammy award winning producer Don McCollister. It was released in 2006 on my own label, Fuzzy Muskrat Records (FMR), and received critical acclaim both in British and American music press.
In December 2008 I released my second album, Fortune Teller. Recorded in the Southern State of Georgia, USA, this album was the result of collaboration with other blues musicians, and you can hear the strong influence of folk and bluegrass in the recording. The range of influences also lends a depth and variety to this album which is enriched further by the simple production style.
Radio interviews and live sets include BBC Radio, Resonance FM, KRUU.FM and Bonanza, I’ve performed on Balcony TV, the Acoustic Festival and Jersey Live, and have played to an audience of thousands at the handover of the Olympic torch.
I’m currently recording my 3rd album and recently released a new music video, Sly Girl.
